Modern USMC Scout Sniper Team.

These 28mm figures are part of an upcoming set of modern American Marine support and specialist troops that I've been working on. I'll reveal the full set when they're ready for release but in the meantime I'd like to show these off.

The Barrett M82 is the same one I made and used for Eureka's 28mm Force Recon Marines way back in 2010, but with the addition of a Picatinny rail to bring it up to modern spec.

MICH helmets (without helmet covers) also set these figures apart from Eureka's 28mm Modern US Marines.

The monocle scope with tripod is actually a three piece model and I'm sure I'll find some future sets to incorporate it into. The bipod for the rifle and a small wall-section will be included with the set.

Above is the photo that pretty much inspired the set, with apologies to the lefties/southpaws out there.

    1. Umm, well I DO really like Ron Volstad's 'Gun Jeep' illustration from the Osprey book, though it's more of an 80s thing.

    1. Thank you. I like to base figures on photos where possible, even if this one is tweaked slightly.

  5. Lovely sculpts! Really makes me regret having gone the 20mm way...

  6. Absolutely super! I shall add one to the collection as soon as Eureka cast it. Could I make one plea? Model the bipod by all means but leave the wall optional. I would like to be able to prop the weapon on any convenient surface, even a pile of bergens. So many models these days have "Wall;standard Issue 1: Weapons for the support of" that battlefields look like they have been worked over by a series of cowboy builders rather than courageous small soldiers blowing things up or knocking things down. The Marine Recon were inspired and a platoon has been furnished with several duplicates. With Iconic models in Iconic poses one only ever needs one.

    1. Thanks very much for your input Graham! The bipod will be seperate from the wall section, so you'll be able to position the sniper as you wish.

No release date yet, but I'm putting the finishing touches on the rest of the set so hopefully pretty soon.
