Here we go with latest additions to Eureka's Southern African wars range.
First up, some Nationalist guerillas armed with PPSh-41 sub machine-guns. These guys are wearing ragged clothes and have minimal gear, either a small bag or Chinese water bottle.
Some much-requested SKS armed guerillas. These miniatures are designed as opponents for the 1970's-1980's Portuguese and Rhodesian troops already available from Eureka Miniatures.
Kosta, Those look great!!! I can't wait until they are available to supplement the existing Eureka ZANLA figures I have. I've already spent a small fortune since last summer getting into Eureka's Rhodesian Bush War range. Also, any idea when the Rhodesian African Rifles, Grey Scouts dismounts and Rhodesian Paratroop figures will be available?? Soon, I hope. Thanks in advance....and nice job on the great looking minis. Best Regards,Vince
ReplyDeleteHi Vince. Thanks very much for your comment! I am not sure if I will have any additions to this range ready for Historicon, I'm certainly aiming to have the RAR and dismounted Grey's Scouts done by the end of this year. Until then, sounds like you have plenty of stuff to paint :)
ReplyDeleteKosta, Sorry for the delayed response to your kind reply but I've been a bit busy with work lately. Since you are still working on additions to the Rhodesian line can I would like to ask that if/when you add to the Rhodesians themselves if you could a few figures in the kneeling position as well as the firing position (both in kneeling and standing postion). And yes, you are correct, I have plenty to paint for this line. Best Regards, Vince
DeleteNo worries at all Vince.
DeleteI am indeed planning more 'in action' poses for future Rhodesian government sets. The original two sticks of Eureka Miniatures RLI were designed to be in a patrolling posture, so you can certainly expect more chaps firing in the future.
Kosta:
ReplyDeleteI'm just now getting into gaming this conflict. As you can imagine, I'll be using your miniatures along with Force On Force and the Bush Wars supplement.
One thing I've noticed is that Eureka's Portuguese line does not include G3s with grenade launchers, which are required for several of the scenarios. Will you be adding this, and more Portuguese, at some point?
Many thanks for all of your great work!
Greg
Hi Greg, I have been planning to add a few more figures to round out the Portuguese, but it keeps slipping down my 'to do' list!
DeleteI intend adding an MG-3 machine-gun, plus an officer with a sub-machine gun. I have to admit that I am not aware that the G3 could be equipped with a grenade launcher! I will look into it.
Cheers,
Kosta
Thanks Kosta!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I was unaware of the G3 grenade launcher addition as well. Perhaps what is meant is a G3 AND a grenade launcher (such as an M79?).
Thanks again!
Greg
Hi Kosta Great work and I bought a large batch of these some time back and still painting them. Your later versions with AK, RPD etc with a bit more webbing will be great as African Selous Scouts so I am going to get to work on those figures when I get a chance. When will you get a chance to make some European Selous Scouts with Mondevu (Beards)? All the best mate! No preasure! Johny Hop
